Verne High Angle Battery
This image is taken from a pointcloud of a photoscan of the Verne High Angle Battery, which I visited in late December last year.
The Verne High Angle Battery is a 19th Century gun battery built to defend Portland Harbour.
The battery consists of six semi circular gun emplacements built into the quarry walls, with magazines buried under the local rock.
Despite the common use of the pointcloud in heritage architectural projects, it is yet to find its aesthetic qualities exploited by the art and photography world. I think that these 3D images of historical sites hold great value, and resemble one's memory of a place.
