Winter sunset on Casa de les Punxes. Casa de les Punxes is an early twentieth century Modernisme building in Barcelona, Spain, designed by architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch. The building harkens back to old medieval castles, and its nickname of Casa de les Punxes translates as House of the Spikes, due to the plethora of spikes adorning the towers and rooftop. Casa de les Punxes is an iconic building in the centre of Barcelona, and the light at sunset in winter makes the red brick and red towers glow.
