Original Disney Farm, Marceline, Missouri, USA

Although many would not recognize the location of this photo, it was taken on one of the most gloriously peaceful and beautiful places in America - the original Disney farm where Walt Disney as a boy (and then as a man on subsequent trips back to Marceline) would sit beside his 'dreaming tree', observe nature, contemplate and reflect.

Unfortunately, Walt's giant cottonwood 'dreaming tree' was lost during a storm in 2015, however a sapling known as "Son of Dreaming Tree" now grows beside what remains of the original.

The barn is located on the site of the original Disney barn where Walt put on his first production (although this particular building was rebuilt in 2001 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Walt's birth).

Walt Disney loved Marceline to the extent that not only did he recreate the barn on the Disneyland site, much of Main Street USA in Disneyland is either a replica or reminiscent of the small town in Missouri where he spent some of the happiest days of his life.
