D-Day Bunker

This photo is from a series I did in France, I photographed the bunkers along the D-Day landing beaches using Infrared film, a technology developed by the military that was used as a means of surveillance (picking up camouflage) in World War 2. The images were accompanied by the diary entry from the day of the D-Day landings, the 6th June 1944 of a woman called Odette Brefort, she lived in a small town along the coast that was occupied by the Germans, she was a member of the French resistance and would draw maps to inform the resistance in Paris of the German positioning's throughout her town and the neighbouring one.
