The Historic Photographer of the Year is open to amateur and professional photographers around the world. Truly great images of historical sites can change the way people look at the world, whether it’s a picturesque English castle or a ruined Roman villa, they can challenge opinion and stimulate debate.
The Awards offer a window to the world like never before; to hardcore history enthusiasts or those that simply wish to capture wonderful imagery of incredible places from our past.
The Awards have been launched to celebrate and capture the very best historic places and cultural sites across the globe, from the most famous national treasures to the most obscure hidden gems.
Entries will be judged on originality, composition and technical proficiency alongside the story behind the image and its historical impact. By taking part, photographers will get the chance to win a prize of £1,000 and have their winning image showcased across the media.
